Soundtrack for 'Caught in the Act'??

Does anyone know who the banjo picking soundtrack players are? I wish the Soundtrack were available on CD..

reply

I heard Marty Stuart singing, so the music must be his mandolin playing - that's what I think!! I agree, it's good music, and I also would like to own it on CD. I'm watching this movie again right now, it's good Saturday fare, and I feel like I remember seeing Marty Stuart's name in the credits last time I saw this film, now that I think of it! I guess we can check the credits here, huh?

I think there is also a Wynona song being played for this movie....does anybody know the name of it?

If anyone reads this and knows the answer, please post! I would LOVE to have the soundtrack and it DID sound mostly like Wynona - Can you remember some of the words - I want to look it up to see if I can find it.

That was Yesterday by Wynona Judd

Thank you so much for that! That is the very song I fell for!I sure would like to get the whole soundtrack! It's all wonderful!

Yep, that soundtrack blew my mind. I even signed up for IMDb Pro for 24 hours so that I could look up Marty Stuart's contact information. I wrote to his Public Relations firm to ask if any of this music is available on CD and I never heard back.

Here's what I wrote:

I am not sure who will be reading this message, but I just wanted to say that I spent several hours the other day completely mesmerized and blown away by Marty Stuart's soundtrack for the TV movie "Caught in the Act" and now I am desperate to hear it again! It was completely mind-blowing and some of the best music I've ever heard in my life.

I could not figure out which of his albums might have the kind of music that I heard on this soundtrack. If the soundtrack itself were released I would be beyond thrilled, but it doesn't look like it is. Would you be so kind as to let me know which albums of Mr. Stuart's have the kind of music as in the movie? The movie itself was okay and the cast was okay, but the real STAR was Marty Stuart's incredible music. I kind of tuned out the plot at some point because my ears wanted to soak up every note of the music.

If you can help me with any information I would be most grateful!

You'd think that when someone writes a good letter such as yours that someone would answer! So you sent on martystuart.net's contact form? Hmmmm. Anyway, see him in concert sometime, he really puts on a great show, and his band is fabulous!

Thanks, Moonchild. I'm so sorry I never came back here and saw your reply! Just got it now. Maybe you'll see my reply to your reply in six more months.

Yeah, I wrote to several different contacts, including the official one. I am not even sure my email reached anyone...

Haha, I have that thing set up that tells me when someone answers me here, don't you? But it doesn't matter, these replies are always good to see, no matter how long. Have a great summer!! I can't believe no one clued marty into this discussion, too, he should see it! Take care!

I've been searching for years to find a copy of the end credits song if anyone even knows the artist it'd be great to know.
I can't remember much of it now but part of the the lyrics of the chorus are 'Back in the day when daddy bought my gasoline, life was as comfortable as my old blue jeans'

Any clues?

Thanks.

I thought I'd let you know someone finally did write me back from Marty Stuart's PR office, but they weren't very helpful. They wrote:

No idea what music of his is closest to the music in that film. You could try the soundtrack of "All the Pretty Horses."

I loved the music too. I found a cover of the song sung by Marty Stewart in the movie that I especially liked, "I've Been Lonely Too Long". It was the background song when "Jodie" was coping files from "Buck's" office.

It's not Marty singing, it's J.D. Bauman and The Band, but it's definitely the song from the movie.

I think Marty wrote it, and he definitely gave it a bouncier rendition in the movie, but it's a fun song for only $0.99.

I think most people find his other song "Don't Leave her Lonely Too Long" which is not the song I've been looking for.

Deep down, I'm pretty superficial.
