Hey the soundtrack isn't that bad all right? I happen to like the music myself. It fits very well on this movie.

it wasnt very... hmmm. i dunno how to discribe it. but like recent movies like Madagascar and The Wild had good soundtracks because they had up beat songs and like songs you can dance to. as i said, i work in a dvd library and i find that kids prefer the songs they can dance to rather than the meaningful ones. and i know it was a sad movie but they had bland singers and that song that was something like a bad day. it had a horrible singer who couldnt hold a note. thats what i thought anyways but as i said on another post, people have different tastes.

Its terrible but wonderful at the same time! ITS LIKE FREEDOM IN A CUP!!!

Most of the songs were sang by Paul Westerberg, and I think some of those songs fit nice in this movie. I do have the Madagascar soundtrack, but not The Wild. I'm a big fan of movie soundtracks.

Me too but that guy just could NOT sing to save his life. i agree that the TYPE of songs fit. but i just think they could have picked better songs.

Oh really? What kind of songs do you think he should use?

well if you wanted them to sound better you could have just gotten Ashton to sing them! COZ HE SINGS BETTER THAN THAT GUY! HAHAHAHAHA!

I wish! Ya know, it's strange! I do love the Teddy Bear Picnic song Beth and Elliot sang in the movie and I really did wish it would be in the soundtrack. I'm surpised they didn't add it on there. Oh well.

that would have been great if they put it in the soundtrack!!! like the put in 5 second music on other soundtracks..

Also, do you know if it was actually Debra Messing who sang the Teddy Bear Picnic song?

reply

Yes I did knew it was Debra Messing singing the Teddy Bear Picnic song of course. I can tell. Just like I can tell it was Ashton Kutcher himself that sang the different version of that same song.

I recon Fox and the Hound 2 had a better soundtrack than open season coz they had chicks singins slow songs. rather than guys who sounded like they was just talking

The Giraffes taste exactly the same as the Elephants! Thats messed up...

Paul Westerberg, a horrible singer????? Please listen to Paul's songs(with the Replacements) "Skyway", "Can't hardly wait", "Achin' to be", "I will dare" and his solo songs: "First Glimmer", "Things", "Runaway Wind" and I think you will change your mind. He has a great voice and Paul Westerberg is the best songwriter in rock music; he also did the background music for the movie "Singles" and 2 songs "Dyslexic Heart" & "Waiting for somebody", which are great.

I was about to say, I know you're not dissing Paul Westerberg!

He's awesome, extremely talented. I was suprised he contributed to the soundtrack, definitely helped me get through baby-sitting my niece and nephew (they love this movie). And I just read that a couple of months ago Paul injured his hand by sticking a screwdriver through it?!

IT SUCKED IT'S EMO!!!

It needs a helping of EMO O's

I think the sound track was maybe meant for the adults watching with their children (at least those of us who were teens in the 80s and know who Paul Westerberg is). Maybe they were going after the success that Jack Johnson had with the Curious George soundtrack.

reply

I love Paul Westerberg and I love the soundtrack. The extra Talking Heads track was a nice bonus, too. I probably hear it differently because I bought the soundtrack before seeing the movie.

reply

do anybody know the song that plays during the open season commercials?

reply

Any soundtrack that contains Talking Heads is alright by me.
