hopefully ninja scroll 2 will wipe the memory of this out of existence!!

yeah I agree, really dissapointing. stupid villains and Jubei defeats every one using the same attack.

Samurai Champloo is better

It was never gonna be as good as the film, but I thought it was good fun. Some of the character stuff was a bit poor, but the action was good.

I suppose it helped that I didn't really have much expectation for some reason, even though ninja Scroll is my favourite anime film.

Haven't seen all of the episodes yet, so maybe it gets worse though...

I just wish it was a little longer.

The original was brilliant because it had so much character. Jubei was a fine swordsman, but needed ingenuity and luck to save the day. In the series, this is hardly emulated, as all Jubei does is spam the Wind-Slash attack over and over. No style, no thought. Also, Dakuan was completely different. He didn't seem half as cunning or ruthless in this. Tsubute was almost a pointless character.

I actually like this series I wouldn't call it great but it wasn't that bad to watch.

I watched it all and I'm afraid I wasn't impressed either.

It was entertaining but a long, long away from being as good as the movie.

The central plot could have been handled in 3 episodes. Instead it's fluffed out with an extra 10 needless episodes that became little more than an exercise in 'monster of the week'.

I also badly wanted to kill his sidekick.

I agree, it's kinda dull how the series keeps this Power Rangers style of storytelling. A new inventive villain every episode, and the hero just whips out the same attack to defeat said villain every time. But still, if you're looking for hardcore ninja/samurai action without too much complexity it's enjoyable.

I watched it for 4 minutes... That was how long I could stomach this pile of *BEEP*... a disgrace to the original movie!
What a waste of money...

I was somewhat disappointed, but several of the sparring segments were creative and enjoyable.

Definitely nowhere near the caliber of the original movie...yet unmistakably, this is still Ninja Scroll material. It did have "that feel" albeit to a lesser extent.

Thankfully Yoshiaki Kawajiri had barely anything to do with this, so here's hoping he'll redeem it with Ninja Scroll 2.
