- The little hut Renya and his men are in, happens to be the same one Tessai attempts to rape Kagero in.

- When the 'Plant Lady' (for want of a better name) is saved from the 'Moth Man' by Jubei, she looks indifferent. But after watching them go, she then breaks down. This, I feel, is reminiscent of Kagero after she watches Jubei head towards Kikio.

- The Plant Lady also has a 'skin shedding' technique like that of Benisato in the original.
