I think one of the most interesting things about this film was how Renata, though cold-blooded and cynical in most ways, is really quite delusional. She overestimates her power over men and assumes Charlie is under her control. So the film suggests that even the most cynical can be naive in their own way. We're all prey to our own personal delusions.

If you respond to this, I may not be able to read it for several months since I am signing off IMDb for awhile. Just wanted to make this comment on a very interesting film.
