Lee Marvin in his Oscar-winning performance in Cat Ballou (1965) If you haven't seen this comic Western, it's a MUST VIEW! Jane Fonda is at her hottest, and the supporting cast members are all terrific.

The best movie drunk ever was Steve Franken in The Party (1968 Blake Edwards comedy). The first time I saw this movie, whenever he came on, I could hardly breathe through laughing. He nearly managed to upstage Peter Sellers for laughs.

Mickey Rourke as Henry Chinaski in Barfly

Henry: This is a world where everybody's gotta do something. Y'know, somebody laid down this rule that everybody's gotta do something, they gotta be something. You know, a dentist, a glider pilot, a narc, a janitor, a preacher, all that.... [sighs]
Sometimes I just get tired of thinking of all the things that I don't wanna do. All the things that I don't wanna be. Places I don't wanna go, like India, like getting my teeth cleaned. Save the whale, all that, I don't understand that

I think most people agree that Oliver Platt as the drunk was definitely a highlight of this movie...I don't know, just the way says things like "turkey lurkey"...is enough to make me laugh.

reply

I definitley agree, kontrolmaster. While I'm at it I'll go ahead and nominate Connie Nielsen as the lowlight. lol Something about her in this movie I just found annoying. So annoying that I had to go watch The Devil's Advocate afterwards. Ah, that's betta!
