Great actors, but...

I loved the book and I felt that the movie was one of the best book to movie adaptations that I've seen. I thought all the actors did an amazing job, especially Jon Voight (old Eddie) and Dagmara Dominczyk (Marguerite).

My only problem is when it went from teenaged Eddie to the scenes with an older looking Marguerite, and the old Eddie with some makeup and a wig. I actually laughed because it looked so ridiculous. Like I said, Jon did a truly spectacular job portraying Eddie. But I think they should've gone with a middle aged actor to play middle aged Eddie. It's easier to make someone look older with makeup and wigs rather than younger, which is why is worked for Dagmara.

I thought it would've been a good choice to have gone with Robert Patrick for a middle aged Eddie, and of course still keep Jon as the old Eddie. At the time of the movie, Robert would've been about mid 40's. I even thought at times that Jon looked and sounded just like him.

I doubt anyone will see this now, but I just wanted to express that thought.
