Dunkirk 2004

An excellent drama-documentary but in the final stages the Germans were seen using Russian PE2 and Stormovics aircraft to subdue the "Beaches".

Why don't these young directors get some old war timers to run through these old film clips to weed out the gaffs.

They probably did but they would also have great difficulty finding enough "Stukas" and Messerschmitts, even Spain had dumped them by then!

It was the actual contemporary footage that was incorrect - not the aircraft being used to re-enact the LW attacks on the beaches; as I recall, the BBC dramatisation did not feature such BoB style sequences for reasons of cost and lack of availability of kit (as leicester15c points out)

I have seen this film several times and have not noticed this error.
The film certainly shows good footage of STUKAS dive bombing,no need for scenes of other aircraft.
I am sure that the makers of this film had historical advisers,I did not see any errors.
