Wish it had been documentary without the drama

I understand this is "docu-drama", but for me the acted parts were very irritating, silly and cheaply done. What's wrong with sticking to the historical material, expert analysis, archive footage, photographs, and interviews with people who actually remember Dunkirk?

I couldn't get past the first 15 minutes of this, purely because of the "drama" sections. The BBC can do so much better, with documentaries like Nazis: A Warning from History, and Road to War.

This was more of an entertainment piece than an interesting & informative documentary. I confess that I didn't know much about Dunkirk, and this silly movie didn't increase my knowledge of the event.

BTW, the herkey-jerkey camera movements and quick-zoom shots made me want to take a Dramamine.

I would encourage you to give it another try. It is hard to get through it ... as it is dragged down by to much "drama" ... but it is worth it in the end. I wish they cut about 20 minutes from the 180. That would improve it greatly.
