Why have Luke in the sequel

Okay, I watched the original earlier today. In the end Alex turned out to be an alien and she attacked Luke. Also if you pay attention the Detective that kept called him puppy, was hinted at as being infected or whatever you want to call it (notice he was scratching his throat like Roger was).

So here are my questions.

1. Why is Luke is part 2, yes Constance explained why he didn't die, but if that's the case, what happened to Alex?

2. What happened to the male detective?

3. Did Nicole Eggert's character just disappear?

4. Did Luke just say F it and finish school and not ever think about the alieans at all, since he apparently survived Alex's attack? And if he did, shouldn't he be infected with the bugs like Roger was since they were in love with their significant other at the time. Roger knew he had the eggs in him and everything (he asked her how long it would take). Wouldn't Luke have that too?

(Okay more than a few questions.) Sorry if any of these got answered in the second one, I'm actually currently watching this as I'm typing it.

Sorry to reply to a message 6 years old, but well i saw the first Decoy a long time ago, recently(couple months ago) picked the second one, and well i remembered the Alex plot part and was like "wtf"?

But i decided to watch again the first one to be sure about everything, i mean it had been years since i saw the first one. So i get this at the pawnshop... 3 bucks why not? I watch it and well...

Lets just say the second one is a loosy sequel... basically they brough back Luke just to have links in the first movie, not redo the whole story of "finding out" as Luke already know. Constance being back is also weird... even with the clone story or whatever...

I had fun watching the second movie, but the plot elements with the first one where too loosy to me... There is continuity errors.

Alice is the worst character of all time, she need to die in the last movie. Chris/Jill are RE !!!

1. Luke's in the movie because he was the protagonist of the first one. He explains himself in "Decoys 2" that he survived the ending. In any case, Luke's presence links the two movies.

2. They're at an entirely different campus in "Decoys 2." The first film was shot in Ottawa whereas this one was shot in Edmonton 2000 miles away.

3. She's probably on the same police force from the first movie, which -- again -- was from an entirely different town/location.

4. Apparently "Alex" was unable to impregnate Luke at the end of he first movie and he was able to survive the attempt. The first movie showed that Alex really did care about him (like Constance did for Roger) and so she probably went easy on him so as not to kill him. After Luke recovers in the hospital, he finishes school and in the meantime traces the aliens to this other campus so he gets a gig there to investigate after graduating.
