This movie is so religious!

Can anybody see the religious propaganda?

From the obvious references to the Bible- the movie motto in the beginning, to the demons, the sin that attracts god`s rage, Acheron which is Hell, the relic, etc etc.

And it also has a moral- if you`re not religious, if you *beep* around or look at playboy magazine pictures, basically if you sin you go to hell.

At one point Courtney throws the relic and the blonde guy picks it up and she mockingly calls him "religious boy". That`s supposed to make us sympathize with him, and to show us that religious boys don`t go to hell. Quite subtle.

So in answer to your questions "who paid for this movie????" i tell you it was the Catholic Church!

Lol, too true.

Go to the loo, 'cause all the *beep* is coming out your mouth instead of your a-hole...

Justme: This isnt meant to be insulting, just wanted to add my opinion.

1. You don't have to believe in God to "live a great life and try not to hurt ourselves and others."

2. It seems you are one of the many people who "believe" in God because he "promises eternal life." Most people love the idea of continuing on after death. Religion plays on fear. (Beleive in me and you won't die, go to hell, etc)

3. Someone once pointed out to me that it means much more to do kind things as an atheist than it does to do kind things because you are [Christian]. I try to live a good life for many reasons: it makes me happy, it makes others happy, etc.

4. No one (alive) knows what happens after we die. i am sick of people who think they do.

5. I think everyone should choose the path they feel is right for them, and let others do the same.

...Some people have been clinically dead for hrs, came back to tell of heaven and hell like dreams. No dreams about eating ice cream at the Playboy mansion though. Makes you wonder then if these are eternal places you can get stuck in, even if they can't be proven. I was stuck in hell for a few minutes and woke up gasping for air. I thought I would be there forever and asked god to help and this guy (Lucifer maybe who knows) grabbed me by the throat and said "god wont save you now" and then I said (sort of choking out syllables) "Jesus, save me..." and I began to go back up through a tunnel and woke up remembering how it seemed that all hope and love didn't exist during that time. Just hate, despair, and hopelessness. The feeling of never being able to see people again and being in darkness. Let me tell you, real or not I still think about it after two years and it drives me to stay alive (as I was not caring if I lived so much).

You should NOT be alive.

There is nothing wrong with Religious thrillers or horror movies. I liked the EXORCIST. There are films like END OF DAYS or STIGMATA which I found very entertaining. Religious themed horror is nothing new (or wrong). I also liked the PROPHESY series of movies. Then there is The BODY with Antonio Banderas (which was okay), or who could forget THE OMEN? :) There are STRONG religious overtones in these films? Though I agree that the movie in question is BAD, I don't fault it purely for having a religious overtone.

What I suspect is that the OP is a religion hater (don't worry, I got friends who see the entire world through the prism of 'religion = bad", so I'm used to it.) I'm not at all religious, but things like that don't bother me.
