has this movie released???

has this movie released..if not,,then when??

reply

It has been banned in India

reply

i'm not really sure about the ban, maybe the ban was enforced after a limited release coz i got a vcd of the movie..

reply

No it didn't get passed the censors but it can be uploaded from other countries where it is being showed via P2P and anyone can make illegal copies once you download it. By the way I havn't seen the film but I might rent it when it comes out on DVD, is it worth watching? Is it a typical random dance movie with over the top villians? Also is there any particular reason why you think this movie got banned?

reply

The reason it got banned is that it is based on a book called Black Friday:the true story of the bombay blasts. This book has been around for a long time,10 yrs i think. The court cases are still going on,you know how fast the Indian judiciary is..so the big crime in this movie is that the main accused are actually named in the movie.
eg.Tiger memon
The book has been around for a long time & no1 got a prob with that(no1 reads in India?) but the movie will influence the pending verdict!!What a bunch of *beep*
Btw,it is worth a watch, hats of for the director, like r.g.verma he's shown a lot of balls to make a bare-it-all underworld drama.A couple of chase scenescud have been shortened but i'm sure u'l enjoy it,documentarish(?)..

The movie has been banned following Supreme Court directive for the same. The movie is currently available on net. The movie is based on book by the same name which is authored by Hussain Zaidi. The book is publicly available since it was published two years back. The movie itself has been available on net for download for quite some time. Send me a private message if u want the same. And going by the previous reputation of director and rave reviews by critics, this is one movie you should be watching.

What makes you think that a movie with dance numbers and villains will get banned? In India, only those movies get banned which try to portray the truth or any form of truth for that matter. May be be Bombay bomb blast or anything related to politics. This is a daring step from Anurag Kashyap and I respect him for what he has tried to present on the screen but thanks to Indian cencor board, they don't want people to see truth. "why didn't they ban the book too then?" I hear someone say that. Well, you have to be literate to read that book and how many people read in our desh anyway. In my opinion, the old hags should be asked to retire from censor board and some matured people who have tasted international waters should form a new censor board so that they can make intelligent decisions. Anyway, the movie is available on P2P sites and it is definitely worth a watch.

Great movie!!
the SC should withdraw the ban as soon as possible.

reply

Hah Sanjay, looks like you were wrong. It wasn't banned because it's controversial, it was banned because it would affect the ruling in the ongoing case.

According to your theory, Rang De Basanti wouldn't have been released then.

reply

The movie releases in theaters today on February 9, 2007.

i just finished watching this movie. amazing work. it's hard to describe what you feel about what was going on in the movie.
oh if you're a pop-corn and a soda person, don't watch it. your thinking of having pop corn in your hands would destroy the whole main idea of this amazing movie.
