mediocre, but I guess that's the idea

A cathartic way to kill a half hour, but lets not get carried away. I picked up the melancholy oyster boy thing when it came out years ago and added it my collection of lame, illustrated little bits written by celebrities that otherwise wouldn't have been published (Travolta's One-Way Coach and Lennon in His Own Write come to mind). The boy with nails in his eyes was my personal favorite, though the birth scene was pretty classic: "I don't think that's water"

Anyway, I thought it was your usual flash toon, but I'm sure it's great for the die hard Burton fans, and more power to ya. For myself, on the other hand, give me Edward Gorey or give me, well, give me whatever. I mean, I've got the weather channel on at the moment.

Internet movies on IMDB? I knew these damn icons were a slippery slope.

To post an opinion. And maybe start a discussion. That's what the boards are for.

not bad.
maybe this would be better off as a user comment (review) than a message board.
Great expression of opinion here though not quite a springboard for conversation.

I dunno, I'm sure they probably could've gotten published even if he wasn't a celebrity...Since books like Oyster Boy are so popular with some people other people who aren't as famous have been writing their own and getting them published. Like Roman Dirge, Serena Valentino, Angus Oblong etc.

I agree. I love Tim Burton's movies and such, but I felt like these films were just a way to kill time. Extremely disappointing.

Yea, I usually love Tim Burton's stuff (although I thought The Corpse Bride was just average and Sleepy Hollow was not that good of a try at a slasher film), but I did not find this enjoyable... at all. I love his early work like Vincent and Frankenwiener, but I just did not like this. It was trying to be Salad Fingers (which I don't like to begin with, but it is original, to say the least) but it wasn't as demented.

Um, you do realise it came out before he became really famous right?
