dabeaz, you are an idiot!

You should really read some books and literature about this event, so you don't come across like a *beep* idiot.

This movie does not blame the US for not involving itself, it simply shows how the US rationalized their avoidance of this event. For the record, Belgium bears most of the blame, then the French and the UN. Of course the US could have gotten involved, but not only did we have the Somalia episode on our collective memory, but we had the Kosovo incident bogging us down. Of course, this along with Hotel Rwanda shows how inept the UN was during this episode.

The evils that went on during this genocide were just barely touched on by this movie. And just because you don't like what happened, doesn't mean you can dismiss it. And for the record, dabeaz, you idiot, was that if Rwanda had oil, our asses would have already been in there.

I have read three books on this issue, you have read none (stop lying). How can you equate Bush and Saddam with this? As for the Kosovo engagement, that was effecting the entire economy of Europe. The financial repercussions were tremendous, which is why NATO involved themselves.

And anybody that does not understand Belgium and France's responsibility here is a total idiot! And *beep* the "you are a liberal" and the "I am a moderate" crap. You are obviously a moronic Republican, it helps explain your ignorant argument.

The French were still selling ammunition and weapons to the Hutus as reports of the genocide were leaking out. As for the Belgians, they created all of that *beep* Leopold was a snake and a half.

Dabeaz, I am just wondering. (please try not to interpret any hostility because of our debate on another thread) You repeatedly bring up that certain people wished the US had gone into Rwanda but were against going into Iraq, and that they "can't have it both ways." But, it seems that you supported invading Iraq while don't believe that we should have gone into Rwanda. Am I wrong here?

Thanks, dabeaz, glad I'm finally clear on your position with regards to Rwanda. But now I have to ask, how am I making our soldiers targets?

I do! We should have stayed in South Vietnam and lost over 100,000 troops. Right? So, we as citizens should always stand blindly behind our political leaders when they decide to send our loved ones off to fight and die in foreign countries? Got it! Sieg Heil!

How in the world did you arrive at this response? You're ventriloquizing, and that means that you cannot respond to what the previous poster actually said.

Anywhere on your list of the "usual suspects" to blame for the Africans who were actually hacking each other to pieces?

I guess not.
