1. Not enough advertising. Some of my friends didn't even know when it was on.
2. Too much competition in a terrible time slot. At the time in Spring 2005, "Summerland" was competing with "24" on FOX, "Las Vegas" on NBC (now on Fridays), and "Everybody Loves Raymond"/"Two and a Half Men" all very highly rated shows at the time. It was also competing with "The Bachelor" on ABC. Now that seems like suicide for a beloved show.

i didnt know it was on..i only watched it coz one of my friends told me to..and i think i only watched the re runs..but i watched a few of the episodes on youtube, and im dispappointed that i didnt get to watch all of them, and that it got cancelled..its really one of those shows that appeal to me =[
