I doubt its gunna happen its been so long since that show was cancelled and all the actors are doing different things now. And its be kinda wierd to do an episode then have the final episode be like a year later. Did it really have low ratings cuz i know so many people who watched it...but i live in cali so thats prolly y

Well the thing was it had really high ratings when the started it as a summer series. It was huge for the WB, but then it seemed like they all got full of themselves and figured what worked in the summer could also bring high ratings to the regular season in which the WB was struggling. So they launched Summerland in January... which doesn't make sense for so many reasons... then they put it on a sucky night and timeslot...then they canceled it when it failed to perform as well as it did in the summer. DUH If I were one of the exacs as WB I'd have said "well gee that was stupid... lets put it back as a summer series where it thrives," but no they had to get rid of it all together!!!! Even though it had been getting good reviews and it was a quality show with good writing, great music, and characters people cared about...go figure.

Anyway, and it's still not out on DVD, and I guess I'm annoyed with Warner Bros. a little on so many levels concerning this series. But oh well.

That's why it got canceled. the brilliant idiots in charge of television programming strike again.

I would be great to see a "reunion" special or something to tie everything up a little, like someone suggested one more episode... probably it'd be more likely to see a tv movie special or something like that... if we get anything at all, that is.

I'm late getting in the Summerland "fanclub" I never saw it while on TV ... Maybe because of where they had it. I've watched a lot on YouTube and would love to see it on DVD.
I think they do need to do something to "wrap it up". Come back, even if it was later and close story lines. The last they had Cameron and his Dad was "SafeHouse" I'd like to see his Dad out of Rehab and starting a new life with Cam.

season 2 sucked

reply

Season 2 did suck, they dragged out the Johnny - Eva love thing for far too long and it got really annoying and drawn out. My girlfriend and I watched every single episode then just got bored with the whole story and every week ending with "will they or won't they get together". The show went from good to crap, plain and simple. They obviosly wanted to be together so they should have been, just a bad job by the writers.

If they would re-air it, it would be really popular. Jesse McCartney is alot more famous now, and Zac Efron was barely known when Summerland was around. Both guys would make the show a huge success!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Nobody knew Zac Efron two years ago! Ever since HSM, he is like the most famous person in the world. All I ever see and hear is Zac Efron this and Zac Efron that!!! The show would be more popular, that is a good excuse for them to air it! All they would have to do is make previews for it saying Zac Efron and Jesse McCartney are in it!!! Instead of hearing about HSM, you'd hear about Summerland!!!

LOOK IN THE TRIVA!

low ratings.. ughh it sucks..

reply

I doubt Zac Efron will agree to come back. He's a star now, and an international one thanks to hairspray.

reply

and hsm as well

people are only watching it on youtube due to zac efron. i loved this show back when it was on tv, the wb did a pretty bad job advertising the 2nd season, i didnt even know it was on til like 5 or 6 episodes later
