indeed, infact, Muse are not only the best rock band from England, but once Absolution gets picked up in America, they will be open to a lot of new fans and will go stellar just like Radiohead. It is a shame that Hullabaloo is the only proper DVD/VHS release my Muse, we demand more Muse, lol. Seriously though, if you haven't heard of muse, go out and buy everything to do with Muse you can, you won't be disapointed.

I bought Showbiz several years ago after I heard it on an internet radio station (admittedly because it reminded me of RH). It (and all Muse's CDs) have had standard American issues, so I don't really understand what the frontpage comment about "no American releases" is all about. In any event, Muse do doubt have a bit of a following here but I'd hardly call it "huge". They are playing Temple University in a couple weeks, student tickets are $10 (about ~6 pounds), and they haven't sold out.

Still, up until recently (the alternative station here in Philadelphia was taken off the air) they had semi-regular airplay. Also, I got a chance to listen to Absolution at a Tower Records listening station. Good stuff.

Hmmm, I guess I was wrong. I can only find "origin of symmetry" as a $20 import. I wonder who decides which albums get a US release and which don't. I seems somewhat arbitrary to me.

They had a dispute with their American Record label at the time, Maverick (Madonna's label). Maverick told them to change tracks on Origin of Symmetry to make it more radio friendly and less weird.

Muse of course refused and so split from that record label. So for the duration of their Origin of Symmetry and Hullabaloo releases they had no American record label and all OoS and Hullabaloo material was and still is only available as imports.

But by the time they released Absolution, they had of course been signed by Warner in the US, so were able to release it.
