Reboot ?
Wonder when toho co will reboot the series?
share2014, last I heard. I don't think that includes the new American Godzilla that is being planned. Not sure when or if that one will go into production.

Probably not for a while yet. Legendary Pictures has the rights to make a new film. Now Toho still has their own rights and could make one if they wanted to, but it's unlikely that they'll produce films alongside or so near Legendary's. The other problem is that Toho is going to have to work harder to make money off of the movies. The Millennium films, on average, didn't make that much money.

Toho will only put one out if the new US one flops... Like they did last time. But I think this 2014 one will be a good one.
shareif 2014 bombs then Toho will hang him up for MANY more years to come. Now after we have run our course providing that our film is successful then I would asses maybe 5 years after that, But as long as ours keep making money (that is if they do!) then it would be dumb for them to make them alongside us. Keep in mind we are doing all the work spending all the money, we are DOING EVERYTHING, TOHO is just distributing in Japan. They get to sit pretty and make money off of us...if ours bombs why they would want to toss money into that boat when we spent Hundreds of MILLIONS of dollars....no point
so much rides on the success of 2014 and the rise of LEGENGOJI that it is ridiculous.

Toho will release a new Godzilla film in 2016, the sequel to Godzilla 2014 will land in theaters in 2018..
