Two changes they should have done (Spoilers)

I liked the movie, as do my High School Students. Still, why must they put idiotic hollywood nonsense in an otherwise good movie to almost ruin it. Two scenes so easily improved:

1-When Adriana and Veronika escape, why not have them run to a phone inside a building and then get surprised by the Traffickers? That seems better than avoiding a cop (Adriana) and standing idiotically at a phone and not fleeing as you watch your kidnappers arrive to re-capture you.

2-Just as Ray leaves with his girl Adriana (Maria) and Jorge runs up and attacks Manuelo with a crowbar, the police arrive just in time to avoid having the nasty woman shoot Jorge and probably Ray. So disgustingly Hollywood. I can think of several ways to handle this better.

Why insult your audience with such idiocy?

1- I agree, to a point. However, no one knows how they would react in that kind of situation. Both girls are beyond desperate, and probably not thinking straight.

2- Again, I agree, to a point. The timing was a little too perfect, however, the police were watching, and more than likely had their eye on Jorge. So, it's believable that they would've made their move when Jorge made his.

I agree. The ending was a little too wrapped up in a bow. If we knew the police were watching at the end, then maybe it would not have felt so fake. There were just too many lucky coincidences throughout the movie.

I agree. The logic flaws detracted from what was a well cast movie paced well. Why wouldn't the sister tell the american student she is kidnapped? why wouldn't she tell anyone in the parade? You make a scene in a crowd and that is the best way to deter criminals from chasing you. I agree we have instances where kidnapped girls like that mormon girl (forget her name) didn't do a good job escaping when her kidnappers took her to gatherings. But in this case, the girl was still new to the kidnapping and wasn't tamed enough.

Also the final scene was a little groanworthy where they have the kid of the mafia guy say "papa" as his dad lay there dead. A little too unsubtle.

I have a big change I would have liked. A quick death was way too good for the main villain in this movie, remember the girl's older brother stabbed the guy to death at the end?

Well how about an ending where he ends up in PRISON getting repeatedly GANG RAPED by other inmates that hate him for harming children. Think the ending of the Charles Bronson movie KUNJITE FORBIDDEN SUBJECTS or the Tom Sellick movie AN INNOCENT MAN. THAT is what I wanted to see not him getting killed him getting repeatedly raped and treated like crap in prison.

reply

Yes I agree on both points.

Also the exchange seemed really stupid. Why on earth wouldn't the guy just accept a quick exchange at the parking lot, he could've had the girl in another car waiting to be "delivered" as soon as he got the money.

From the criminals point of view that would surely be the safest way to do it. I mean why the heck would you want to invite someone you suspect could be a cop to your house where all your criminal activity takes place?

But since they wanted to add suspence I guess they couldn't do it that way.

Criminals are only interested in getting their cash + getting out of there safe, they don't give a crap about wether or not the customer wants to bang the girl or not.
