IL FUGGIASCO /The Runaway

The story of an innocent man accused of a murder. At one moment his stable life turned into a never-ending nightmare. Sufferings, physical and mental pain, humiliation, ruining of all his hopes and dreams, the loss of his true love, his parents, his country. This story based on real events found a reflection in a movie by Andrea Manni *Il Fuggiasco*( *The Fugitive*).

A hard movie which makes us come to think of the sufferings of innocent people and of the Justice itself. Does it exist? And does one have to fight for it and pay such a high price?

Brilliant performance of Daniele Liotti ( as Massimo Carlotto). The film won several awards. Daniele got a Golden Globe for the best revellation of the character.

Let's share our impressions.

Yes,the film is rather hard and I was feeling tension in almost every episode.Just hated all those judges. Poor Massimo, what happenned to him was just terrible!

And I also hated Sandra. How could she abandon Massimo during that hard period of his life? She said that she had to endure his punishment too.As if Massimo was really guilty! And she told him to go out of her life. That was too cruel towards Massimo. He was so desperate and helpless. He was all alone without loving Dad and Mum and the only woman he trusted and loved turned away from him. What a b*tch!

And that Chinese woman, did she love Massimo or was it just a trick to make him trust her mean husband??I didn't quite get that moment.

Yes, very beautiful indeed. And she was so devoted to Massimo. And the Chinese woman was just unsatisfied with her old hubby and used Massimo in a sexual way. That's my point of view.

Yes.Lolo was a very kind person and helped Massimo as he could. What can I say about Sandra...well. I didn't like her at all either. She's too rough for Massimo. If she really loved him she wouldn't act in that way.She knew that he had to hide and she must understand his feelings and sufferings. It was not his fault that she had to hide with him too.

A very good film, just amazing.

P.S. How did you like our sweet Daniele wearing glasses and being so funny? :) I think he is adorable even in that appearance. And what appearances did you like most?

The film is set very true to life, I agree. And as for Sandra's action maybe we'd act in the same way, God knows. The situation was so tense.

Luisa is very pretty,very...

In Mexico City Massimo was charming, you're right. It seems to me that everything becomes our Daniele :) even a beard and glasses.

You think Maria was Massimo's girlfriend too? I didn't quite get it either as she was fighting for justice and tried to help wrongly accused. But as far as the film shows they lived together. Am I right?
