I almost pissed myself when i watched this

This movie has the worst acting i have ever seen and i can't see how anybody can take it seriously. So anybody who isn't christian goes to hell... great message lets scare everyone into religion. :)

reply

Exactly. That's the main problem I have with Christianity. Why not be good people just for the sake of being nice on it's own merit. Not for some supposed "heavenly reward". It's really quite selfish. I'm going to believe so I don't go to hell and make sure I'm good to people so I go to heaven. Wow. Not very good reasons for believing in anything.

reply

[deleted]

So hypethitically speaking if i didn't believe in god but i was a nice person in general you think i would go to hell?

That doesn't make any sense to me.

reply

Well guy's I'll put it this way the holy trinity(father, son, and holyspirit) are the final say. It dosen't really matter what you think or want to believe. If you don't get on his band wagon then your not on the wagon at all. God does what he wants to do. Jesus does what he wants to do. The Holy Spirit does what he wants to do. Which is all different but at the same time the same goal. You're "feelings" in the the end, if they don't line up with Gods word me Nothing. It will be accounted of as much in front of the great Judgment seat of Christ as well( which is not the seat to be infront of by the way. Most people want to dance around the issue, but You can only be saved one way. ABC, A. Accept, that Jesus Christ the son of God came down in the form of a man, was the only perfect person and died to wash our sins away. B. Truly Believe the above a FACT C. Confess Your belief of A. and B. to Men(and women). No other way but by Jesus Christ are we save, not hindu, buddist, Islamic, shinto, Native Americian god/s or even by just beliveing in God as in the Jewish faith. So yes if you tell me you don't believe in the ABC's you are going to hell. No punches pulled here man, sorry. By the way more to your question, Faith without works is dead. But if you want more of an explination here is a passage to answer part of your question.

James 2:14-26

14 What good is it, my brothers, if someone says he has faith, but does not have works? Can his faith [a] save him?
15 If a brother or sister is without clothes and lacks daily food, 16 and one of you says to them, "Go in peace, keep warm, and eat well," but you don't give them what the body needs, what good is it? (A) 17 In the same way faith, if it doesn't have works, is dead by itself.

18 But someone will say, "You have faith, and I have works." Show me your faith without works, and I will show you faith from my works. 19 You believe that God is one; you do well. The demons also believe—and they shudder.

20 Foolish man! Are you willing to learn that faith without works is useless? 21 Wasn't Abraham our father justified by works when he offered Isaac his son on the altar? 22 You see that faith was active together with his works, and by works, faith was perfected. (D) 23 So the Scripture was fulfilled that says, Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him for righteousness , (E) (F) and he was called God's friend. (G) 24 You see that a man is justified by works and not by faith alone. 25 And in the same way, wasn't Rahab the prostitute also justified by works when she received the messengers and sent them out by a different route? (H) 26 For just as the body without the spirit is dead, so also faith without works is dead

I am uncomprimising in my views(yes I am as closed minded as they come) and that is ok. But my intent in that is not to offend but to instruct in the correct and just message that is not mine, but Jesus word and teachings.

reply

Well if only those people go to heaven looks like the party is going to be in hell!

So i will see the people who are jews, budhists, and anyone who believes in god but doesn't believe in jesus there.

Your very funny.

reply

There will be no parties in hell. That is an exceptionally dumb remark.

Are you really too thick to understand the gospel? You (and every idiot liar) like to portray the gospel this way, "Here's mean, hateful, bully God demanding that everyone 'play the game MY way' OR ELSE!" when, in fact, the gospel is too clear to misunderstand. God testifies that He loves the world so much, that He sent His only Son who actually became a man himself, lived a perfect life of obedience to His Father, just as God reasonably and justly requires of us, but because of Adam's transgression, we're at a disadvantage of having a corrupt nature that's prone to sin so, Jesus, after living a perfect life took an amazing amount of abuse from the very people He created and then allowed men to nail him to a cross and suffered even more and then died.

God's paid our sin debt by Himself, beyond anything we could have even imagined and something we would never have considered requesting.

Now, some fools, contrary to amazingly irrefutable evidence want to pretend this is a fantasy fabricated by any number of people, depending on which liar is making up the story.

But, the fact is, if the Bible is true (which Book carries the story of Jesus and testifies of itself that it is the very Word of God) then the fact that it claims there really is a devil opposed to God is something that is EVIDENCED by these lying fools who deny the truth of the gospel. For what reason? Is the gospel any skin off their nose? Of course not. Their very lies testify that satan is doing his job to deceive and these liars are serving him, foolishly thinking they're only serving their own lusts.

Yet, some, because they have given themselves to iniquity, willingly serve the devil being deceived by him with whatever lie of which he was able to deceive them.

So, have the sense of a little child and call out to God in genuine sincerity and do like I did--simply ask Him if He is real, to reveal Himself to you, because genuine Christianity is a GENUINE relationship with the living God. Jesus said plainly, "This is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God and Jesus Christ whom You have sent."

Your life and your well-being is at stake. The fullness of the goodness of God is only available to those who believe the gospel. This is God's design and the choice you have isn't whether or not it's true, but whether you'll believe it and receive the benefits of knowing God as your loving Father.

An everlasting torturous hell doesn't really exist, here's proof, it's not what you really think http://www.wnponline.org/wnp/wnp0003/hell.htm. I'm gettin really tired of people believing that, they should go back and search their scriptures.

reply

I guess all those people that lived for thousands of years before Judaism or Christianity are all going to hell. Because, you know, there were other dominant religions before the ones today, and I'm sure there will be others two thousand years from now.

I respect people who have faith, but I do not respect those that press their beliefs on others and Christians are not the only ones.

Crazy how many great screenplays are out there, yet "Stealth" got 1800 screens

If it seems like were forcing our beliefs on you I'm sorry...I'm not the most knowledgable Christian...
and I stumble and Sin like most Christians but we do it cause we care..

O.k you dont believe... but say ... just believe for a minute that there was a hell and you knew that it was real... and the key to avoid it would be to take all the bad, the lust, the sins out of you and give them to a guy(jesus) who said he would take them from you, so you will be clean and then gives a key to paradise and says he we suffer the torment of hell in your place because he loves you...
Dont you see jesus always knew he was going to be crucified...
years before jesus they were sacrificing lambs and goats to cleanse themseves of there sins at a constant rate...
Jesus came to sacrifce himself, being of God the ultimate sacrifce in place of all the animals... once and for all.

From the day jesus became a man he knew his fate ..his whole purpose of birth was to die for us..... to be a sacrifice for our sins to spare us from this awful Hell... as the sacrificial lamb.

And you mother or someone you cared about was dying would'nt you tell them so they could avoid this place...?

"If sinners be damned at least let them leap to hell over our bodies. Let them go with our arms around their knees. Let no one go there unwarned or unprayed for."

My friend, I stand in judgment now,
and feel that you’re to blame somehow.
On earth I walked with you by day,
and never did you show the way.

You knew the Savior in truth and glory,
But never did you tell the story.
My knowledge then was very dim.
You could have led me safe to Him.

Though we lived together, here on earth,
you never told me of the second birth.
And now I stand before eternal hell,
because of heaven’s glory you did not tell! ......

in proclaiming the word of God, even for those who 'say' (God has given unto "everyone" of us a 'conscience' and ultimately that helps us to 'acknowledge' Him whether or not we 'ever' admit it, by saying it out loud or keeping it to ourselves.) they don't believe in Him.

They day is coming, probably sooner than mankind realizes, when those who believe and especially for those who do not will stand before Him, to give an account for 'everything' we've ever done in this life.

I can not fathom for the life of me, denying the greatest Spiritual Being (God) known to mankind and history, giving His one and only Son to take upon Himself "every" sin that I've 'ever' committed (and ever will committ until His coming again), and yet bestowing on me "un-merited" mercy and grace by 'allowing' me to one day become a part of the "greatest" family throughout 'all' eternity, and escaping hell as well.

Yet and still, how do I say "thank you" for something (or should I say "somethings") I most assuredly don't even deserve??? 'No' other deity, being, or whatever we may call them (it) that comes to mind, has ever done for me what God's Son Jesus has done. But still we've become jaded, distant, and most of all unbelieving in the sight of God who didn't have to do what He did, but thought enough of us (human-kind) to do so.

So, Monkee9, if no one else here or anywhere else on earth says it I will, "thanks" once again for your 'boldness' (that the Lord Himself has equipped you to say) in presenting the un-adulterated truth from a perspective, that we 'know-it-all' humans will one day come to wish we'd "all" listened to. Keep talking for eventually someone who really does want to know about God and His Son will most surely take heed, and with God's help change their direction and life for the better.
For those of you who don't know, but way down deep inside feel something pulling at you, God 'is there' waiting for you, if you'll just seek Him out. Through the good times and the bad, ins and outs, ups and downs, "He will harken unto those who diligently seek Him". I pray for "all" of you and the world as a whole. God (and Jesus) is concerned and cares for you, and so do we.

I don't trust her. Jesus told his disciples that later, there would be false prophets misleading many(Mark 13:6-22). God said throughout his book that the ungodly will be annihilated, die a second death(Death of the soul)(Malachi 4:1-3, Ezekiel 18:4, Matthew 10:28, 2 Peter 3:10, Psalm 37:10, Isaiah 47:14, Matthew 3:12) and God is a CONSUMING FIRE(Deuteronomy 4:24, Hebrews 12:29) Read on Jeremiah 14:14 and 23:16. Jesus' message is based on love and common sense, he took our place so we won't have to get the death penalty for the wages of sin is DEATH(Romans 6:23) not eternal life in torment like it is generally believed, the same thing when a person commits a crime and goes to jail and is about to be executed, then his relative or friend comes in and takes their place because they care and love that person so much. That is such a great love the creator has for us, we were created to become his spiritual child, partake his kingdom and be immortalized, but God alone has that for now(1 Timothy 6:16) and later give it to the godly in the future when Christ returns to reign(1 Thessalonians 4:14-17, 1 John 2:17, 2 Timothy 1:10, Revelation 20:4, Rev. 5:10, 2 Tim. 2:12). On Psalm 139:7-8 says that the creator is everywhere, there's not a place separated from him. Get into God's word like never before, it's not what you really think.

I totally agree you my friend... this foolish people won't understand untill they feel the same pain shown in movie... !!

God tells us if you haven't believed in Him and accepted Him into your life as your Lord and Savior, then yes you will go to Hell. You may be a nice person, but when do die and you have not accepted Him into your heart, you will have rejected His everlasting love.

Read the Bible.

reply

Yes. God is infinite love, and if you don't believe it he will torture you in hell.

Christianity at it's core it supposed to be the most unselfish lifestyle. Heaven isn't a place that is supposed to fulfill all of your hearts desires. Heaven is more of a relationship than a place... heaven = being in a right relationship with God (almost like being married to God). Hell is the opposite- being separated from God (like a divorce from God). Heaven is all about God, not about you. So if you live your life selfishly, focusing all of you time and efforts on yourself, you reap the rewards of that which is death/eternal separation from God.

Your statement about being "nice" has nothing to do with Christianity. The biggest misconception about Christianity is that you have to be a good person to go to Heaven. The reality is that the opposite is true. Being a Christian means that you've realized that you can never be "good" enough to reach God's standards in having a relationship with Him (which is being perfect, sinless). You realize that Jesus (who lived a sinless life- being fully God, and fully man) acted as a substitute- paying the consequences of your sin- through His death and resurrection- restoring your relationship with God. The rest is a process of God transforming your selfish nature, into a nature that is like Christ's (being a "born-again" Christian). This is all a gift called Grace- we did nothing to deserve it- therefore God gets all the glory, not us. You don't go to heaven for anything you've done. You go to heaven because God did provided a way because he loves you. And if you truly understand this and have this transformation you WANT to live your life according to God's standards (being a "good" person).

Christianity is about being a servant- living your life selflessly, loving others, and loving God.

People have problems with Christianity but sadly don't even know it's true nature, because it's so misrepresented by "Christians" and twisted in the media.

reply

I find it amusing that christians try to prove their religion by quoting their bibles. Look up "circular reasoning" and then get back with us in the 21st century, ok?

reply

Why just focus on Christians? People of the Jewish, Islamic, etc. faiths also believe the same thing that if you don't follow their "path" that you will not go to Heaven. I guess it's just more popular to bash Christians. That's called, "Christophobia".

reply

What is a Xian???? I've heard that before, but what does that have to do with Christians?

reply

Does everything have to be explained? Must everything have a reason?

It is not possible that the world and humans and animals was just an accident. It's just not possible. The only explanation is a god exists and it is HIM.

reply

It is not impossible. If you sit infinity monkeys down in front of infinity typewriters, one will inevitably produce the complete works of Shakespeare. Likewise, if you have infinite nothingness and an infinity of time, something will happen, a big bang for example. It's not just possible, it is inevitable. That is the very nature of infinity.

Then people always ask: how come the universe just happens to have the perfect conditions for human life? Why were we so lucky? Surely that is the sign of the creator? Well, the simple answer is that if the conditions in this universe weren't right, then we wouldn't be here to ponder the question. There might be billions, trillions of other universes where the conditions are different enough to make life impossible, but there will be no one alive there to think about how UNlucky THEY were.

It's just difficult for humans, a race which has its brain wired for working out social interactions and interpersonal agendas, to comprehend things that do not have a reason or plan behind them, so they invent Reasons and Plans from nothing.

This doesn't make believers stupid though; religion is a sign of a higher intellect, in the world of the animal kingdom at least. You can see precursors of religious behaviour and animist beliefs in some other higher animals: for example, the ritual dances of Chimps during thunderstorms, which are passed down from one generation the next. It shows that a species is able, at some basic level, to ponder their existence and look for meaning in their environment, and it's an important social binding tool. However, I suspect we'll move past it, as a species, eventually.

Hey, maybe I'm wrong and will burn in Hell. Or rot in Tartaros. Or be punished in Jahannam. Or one of the many, many, many other bad places featuring in many, many other religions, each of which has followers just as devout, JUST AS CONVINCED of their righteousness as you are. Heck, what if one of those other religions was right? What if you die only to discover that the one true, correct religion was some obscure, extinct tribal belief held by fifty African jungle-dwellers ten thousand years ago? Theologically, I really don't think my agnosticism is any more likely to land me in spiritual hot water than believing in your religion or any other.
