I would recommended people read Ebert's review before you rent the dvd. Honestly, I think if you go into this film knowing what's good about it, you might enjoy it more than me.
Not having read the review beforehand...
It felt like a TV movie.
It didn't deliver what the DVD cover promised.
The ending seemed too unbelievable for me, but I know little about alcoholics, so who knows, maybe that was an accurate observation.
At times, it felt like the writer/director cared more about the music in the film, than the story itself.
So, I was surprised that Ebert gave it 3.5 stars. It seems like a 2 star film to me.
