Really good, but it should have ended with

Duane walking back into the Alcohol Meeting Room thing IMO

Im pretty sure at the end, everyone had a wine glass except him which was a good thing. But IMO if he returned there it would have sealed the movie alot better for my liking

But other then that, it was a solid movie, Schwimmer was great in it

I just saw this film earlier today and that idea also crossed my mind at the end but then I thought that you are left hoping Dwayne does the right thing but...life is not perfect and he had a way to go to get over his wife and kids leaving. Definitely a different glass at Thanksgiving to let you know he is not drinking.

That was some great location for his home, right across the street from the ocean, being from Jersey I envy him in that respect.

I enjoyed the film and was glad to see Schwimmer in a non-comedic role, he does express himself very well. The shot of him riding his bike over the bridge said a lot and some of the close ups without dialogue are great.

IMO..I still think he should've called Linda a liar, citing the "Sickness or in health" vow to her. If you tell someone they are sick for being an alcoholic, then she should have stayed with him and got him help. Leaving him made his sickness worse.

He went back to the meetings. We didn't need to see it.

The wife did all she could in the marriage, but OTOH Duane's losing visitation rights was awfully convienent for her. Moreover she isn't necessarily that good a mom, allowing the boy friend to harass her 8 year old about her weight which is child abuse, clear and simple. (If a child that age has a weight problem - which the child in the role did not - the way to address it is absolutely not the way the boy friend is going at it.) We know she isn't really doing well because after the divorce her hair looks like a fright wig.

I agree wholeheartedly and using the bat as an example in the court was a low blow. I mean he wasn't drunk or anything but standing up for his kid being called fat by his wife's boyfriend. That just made me hate her.
