I am looking for the movie where a gay kid makes a nerdy friend and they dance to Spirit in the Sky? Is this that movie? Missey

This film does have a similar scene to what you describe but the characters dance to a Monkees song.

They dance to "Last Train to Clarksville". Well worth watching.

Agreed! In fact there are several quite extaordinary scenes in this unnoticed, "little" movie. I watch it every 3 or 4 months and find something new to like each time.
