Did it bombed because audiences were growing tired of wire-fu?

Or it look like a Mortal Kombat rip'd? Or because it just sucked?

I have to say personally, it was overloaded with too many non-martial artist for my taste!

When Eric Roberts, Holly Valance Devon Aoki, Sarah Carter and Joy from My Name Is Earl was announced as part of the cast I knew this was going to be more Drew Barrymore Charlie Angels than anything.

I wasn't looking for a realistic take on DOA but back then everybody was going wirefu crazy.

I think maybe this movie took itself too seriously. Could've been more fun like Sucker Punch at least.

I'd probably say lack of promotion, the fact the game is NOT all that famous, and not much star power, and films about female heroes are kind of doomed from start it seems.

That's kind of funny, because I felt like one of the movies biggest assets was that it DIDN'T take itself too seriously.

I don't know why it failed. All I know was this movie was in theaters for 3 days period. I think it had to do with being released against the movie Fantastic Four: Rise Of The Silver Surfer. If this movie had been released against any other movie that wasn't a mega blockbuster, it would have last way longer than 3 days.

You cant fapp in a movie theater.

This was one of the most sexistic, fappiest movies of all time.
I just watched the movie frame by frame.

The director took every chance to put a camera shoot between a girls leg, zooming in on another girl. *art*

The movie was made in 2005 but got shelved until the fall of 2006 where it received a theatrical release in several foreign countries so as to determine whether the movie should be released in U.S. cinemas or just straight-to-video in the U.S.

As for why it didn't get released in the summer of 2006...
