If you are interested in the story, please please please, read the book.

This must be the most awful attempt ever to transform a book into a movie. The story lacks everything that makes the book worth reading, and the acting is so bad you get the impression you are looking at an advertisement for spiritual products, expecting the message 'order now' any moment on the screen.

I have never posted a comment on a movie being good or bad, since this is subjective, but having read the book I feel the exception is justified.

Actually, if you re-read the book i'm sure you'll come to notice it wasn't that great either.

The movie is bad partly because Redfield co-wrote the screenplay. There are some good things in the book, but it too is really badly written.
