I can't believe they killed her off! I loved the character and what happened to her just seemed flat out wrong. Especially the way it was done, it was so cruel and disappointing. I liked Drea de Matteo, but I'd easily prefer seeing her bit it instead of Bello.
Did like the movie, but this really bothered me. Anyone agree?

It was a device to make us hate Gabriel Byrne's character and his Gestapo, I mean crooked SWAT team more.
She didn't deserve that fate, but I guess the scene was used to show "realism" and it worked.
Bad Carpenter flicks are a treat compared with the current spate of PG-13 horror freakhouse
I hated seeing her killed too, but I think it was more because it was Maria Bello than the character itself - who was really annoying.

I'm kinda glad she was the one who died though. I had her pegged as being the survivor while I thought Drea was destined to die, so it was a really nice shock for me

If I ever think of this film, which is never, the first thing that comes to mind is, why did they kill Maria Bello?! That really disturbed me.

Anyways yeah, I was pretty surprised at the death but thought it was effective and provided great shock value to the audience as evidenced by multiple posts on this thread and in this board.
She sure had great cleavage shots here and yeah it was sad to see her die.
