Cancelled?

Today's episode talked about the house closing and was very much like a goodbye episode. Was it just a salute to the season or has Sarting Over gone for good?

I wondered the same thing too. I missed it, but this morning I heard a promo and I'm not sure if it said "season finale" or "series finale".

After the final graduation and the 5K race, the TV station I watch is repeating Season 3 from its first episode (thankfully, 'cause I joined in the middle). There were a couple of promotions about "calling in to be in the next Starting Over house." So....maybe all is not lost. I want DVDs of the first 3 seasons. I have found the show to be helpful in many ways.

that's weird because on the official web site they are looking for women with specific issues to apply to the starting over house. I don't think it's totally dead yet, if so, they need to change the web site.

Yes, they bring back grads and keep others in the house when they are nearing the season's end. This way, they aren't usually in the middle of someone's "journey" when the season wrapped up.

So far there is nothing offical. I am guessing the odds are slim to none since they would have to start production very soon to be on by fall. There is a number you can call go to www.tv.com and search for Starting Over, When you click on the guide link there will be a news section half way down with all the info, If it is not somewhere on this board already.

Um there is Niambi left...we dont know the outcome (at least from what I saw, I dont)

I tried to go to www.startingovertv.com and it sent me to a different site.

It's cancelled.
Although they never offically announced it being cancelled, you could take a look at Rhonda's blog on her site and read the story from Aug. They never contacted Rhonda about coming back for work, they had by June 30th, 2006 to do that.

I would like DVDs as well.

Niambi didn't graduate. I guess her statue will still be on the shelf when the house gets rented out or sold again.

I think the show was cancelled due to pressure from the medical community. I think that 'life coaches', however well intentioned, are not medical professionals, and for them to be dispensing advice on psyhological and emotional issues on national television, probably would open them up to lawsuits.

That said, there are shows about 'rehab' and 'couples therapy' which are similar, so I don't know if it's because they have licensed therapists/physicians on the show.

I have no inside information, but that's what I suspect.
