I thoroughly enjoyed 'Life begins' it represented my life.. to begin with, then it got worse (my life) and unfortunately, I couldn't bring myself to watch the second series.... (much to my annoyance)...so............ will it be repeated? be out on dvd?

I have so much life to catch up on... :o)

:o) If you're not mature enough for criticism, you're too immature for praise! :o)

I don't know if you know, but Series 2 is out on DVD now - available from Amazon. I pre-ordered it last January, or February, when the series ended, and only NOW is it actually out!

I kept getting messages that the release date had changed and would wait until the next date I was given, only to get another message changing the date again! Still, fingers crossed it will arrive at the end of this month! Wish me luck!

i would if i lived in the UK. I adore Anne Reid. :o)

I watch it too. It is being broadcasted as "Maggie's New Life" in the Netherlands.

I have watched it every week since the first episode (in the Netherlands, under the title "Maggie's new life" as the previous poster rightly mentioned). Unfortenately, next week will be the finale of the 2nd season. After that I already know that I will miss Maggie and co. This is yet another superbly acted and well written British series. It's played out very realistic, totaly recognisable even if you haven't been in the exact situation.
It's touching, well Maggie's story first and foremost, but specially (in my opinion) Frank Finlay's portrayal of Maggie's dad who's suffering from Alzheimers disease. This is done so well, extremely touching on one side, but still with a touch of humor and a sense of strength on dad's part (his refusal to give up on himself really grabs you!)
Then there's the more humorous situations in the travel agency. But the series never gets one-dimensional. There's never only comic-relief without any further meaning as well as there's never only drama without some little spark of light.
Caroline Quentin amazed me yet again. I've been a fan since Men behaving badly and Jonathan Creek. Both of which are funnier parts. In this she really impresses in a totally different role (allthough, for me, sometimes I thought I detected a little bit of Dorothy peeking around the corner. But that could be just me ;-)
It's lifelike, it's addictive and it's fantastic! And I hope it will get a 3rd season!!!

RE: victor-the-cleaner

Could you keep it in English? lol
I was just checking Faithless on this site and came up across this series...

It's a great show.

This will MORE than fill the gap until Northern Lights comes back (If it does).

I watch Life Begins. She's the same age as me, and has teenage children (I have an 18 yr old and an 11 yr old), so there are some parallels, mind you I still have my husband here. Whether that is good, or bad depends on the day! I can't understand though why she can't say no sometimes in certains situations!

While I like Caroline Quentin as an actress, does anyone go to a Travel Agency in these days of online booking?

reply

We have a thriving travel agency still, in the market town I live in...
