Do you think he had it or not? *spoilers*

Do you think rob had that disease or not? It was good that we didnt find out and it was left to us to decide

reply

I just can't decide.
If he didn't have it, it would of been a nice happy ending for the series.
But know the grimness of Bodies, it's more likely he had it, all the signs were there. Nevertheless, it a great way to end it all but leaves you wanting more. A fantastic finale to a brilliant British drama.

reply

I think he did.

My reasoning behind this is before he went in I think he was sure he had it because it was one of the main reasons why he ended things with Polly and one of the main reasons why he didn't try and get back with Donna. It was a fitting end to the show, because he has taken down Hurley and in Robs mind he has completed what he set out to do. By letting Polly get with Whitman he is also making sure that Polly and her child are looked after when he dies.

Yes I agree , He was making sure his son had a father figure when he died. It was a fantastic ending to one of the most underated shows ever

reply

totally agreed. i'm sure he had it, and thats why he just let polly and donna go without a fight. i think that rob would have dearly wanted to know his little baby girl and thats why he refused to have anything to do with her - he didn't want to get attached. strangely, i like tony, i think hes a lovely character - very well played- i like the way he uses humour to get through the screwing up of everything. whilst its clear rob never cared too much for polly, you could tell he still loved donna and that was hard for him. but a great last episode - roger met his downfall, and yes its dreary that rob will die alone shutting himself off from those he loves, but its so fitting for bodies! loved it :)
i've watched my series1 dvds to death now, can't wait for series 2 on dvd :)

Who knows... Best finale to a series you know isn't going to continue since Blakes7.

Isn't left up in the air? The doctor at the end gives him his results and tells him that whilst it is not a "clean bill of health" it is not a "death sentence either"

reply

That means he has it. If he didn't it would be a clean bill of health but given they know so little about it they cannot say its a death sentence because it isn't imminent. Its fairly standard phrasing for illneses such as this.

reply

I reckon the diagnosis was inconclusive....

However, if he had been given a clean bill of health, ruining his relationship with Polly and his daughter would have been for nothing. That would have been a 'Bodies' style twist!

I agree with Pooh Bear

There was nothing in what the doctor told Rob to indicate to us viewers whether he had CJD or not.

He basically said that if it's bad news don't think the worst, and if it's good news don't go celebrating just yet.

I just watched the finale on dvd, and while I thought it was a great ending to the series it left open a few things for me. The reveal of Rob's diagnosis, and whether or not he sees Polly and his kid again. With regards to that, I think she was still a little too emotional from having the baby to speak to him. I actually felt bad for Rodger this time around, seeing as how he lost his family as well as his job for the time being.

i don't think he had it. wish they would bring it back!!
