What Is Your Favourite Episode?

Mine is Episode # 3. There is something definitely wrong with the creators of this show... What about everyone else? [When people start coming here of course...]

My favorite is also the most gleefully offensive and off-color, the 12th episode which spoofs seemingly every movie ever made. The "Tokyo Story" spoof caught me completely off guard and I almost fell on the floor I was laughing so hard. The 8th episode is also absolutely hillarious, especially the scene when Arumi is stabbing the voodo doll of Sashi and chanting without any emotion. The 3rd episode was also very good indeed and the spoofs were dead-on.

Its a tie between "Hong Kong Arcade" and "Space Arcade" for me. Those two made me laugh the most. The DBZ spoof in "Hk Arcade" is absolutely PRICELESS!

The "Dating Sim" Episode. .The way Sasshi plays around with the girls (much to Arumi's annoyance), and Arumi turning SuperDeformed and constantly getting beat-up by the chicken, it all plays out so wonderfully. Although I don't really understand the biggest parody of the episode (The girl turning into an angel thing).

Definitely the funniest episodes are the Space Mecha episode, the Dating episode and the Hollywood episode, hands-down. You could tell they were really pushing the humor to the envelope in the Hollywood episode because they knew the series was almost over. I couldn't stop laughing from the start of the Indiana Jones bit to pretty much the part where they run into Sasshi's dad.

And did anyone who has seen the movie Jaws actually feel sorry for that poor shark? Jeez........it didn't even attack them!

If I were to choose two or three favs I guess I'd go for the second episode, The Hollywood Shopping Arcade episode (I'm a big movie buff), and the #3 Milkyway Shopping arcade.

The second episode was great because Sasshi was living out his RPG fantasy. Plus it was funny with Mune Mune constantly appearing, killing Sasshi and Arumi having to bring him back to life.

defintally the Hollywood episode Im a sucker for movie spoofs

Yeah, that poor shark, it didn't eat anyone...

By the way, I don't know if you know already, but there have been JAWS spoofs in at least two other animes. In the very last episode of EXCEL SAGA (the too-hot-for-TV one,) there is a scene where Excel is dunked into a pool of water and is attacked by a shark and kills it in the exact same way they kill the shark at the end of the first JAWS film. And in one episode of GALAXY ANGEL Z the main characters are out on a fishing boat that looks identical to the Orca from JAWS and are fishing for a huge flesh-eating fish, and Forte is fishing for it in the exact same way Quint hunted for the shark, strapped to a chair, stepping down on a pedal just like Quints and using piano wire for a fishing line.

Although your comment came from two years ago.. the girl turning into an angel thing is a spoof on Kanon and Air (both game and anime). The "uguu" is a word that's said a lot by one of the female characters in Kanon, along with the gloves she had on.

I'm weird, but I liked the drama episodes the most. Sure, it's a funny romp, but I really felt a deep connection to Sasshi and Arumi with their connection and friendship. It was really touching and emotional in the drama episodes. No doubt it was hillarious other times, but I though the slower episodes really got to me. I was guessing until the last second whether Masa-jii would be saved or not, and in the end I really liked the happy ending, while I was a little depressed that it seemed like Arumi had no recollection of the entire events. But there you go... But for the funny episodes? 3rd and 12th were the best by far.
