Just like an hour-and-a-half episode of 'Friends' . . .

. . . which is not a good thing, as Jennifer Aniston plays pretty much the same character in everything she's in. I just felt sorry for poor Mark Ruffalo's character throughout this whole movie.

Speaking of Friends, remember the scene where Sarah and Annie are talking and Annie mentions she watches The Nanny and Sarah says that show is funny? I wish she had said Friends and then Sarah says she hates that show, especially Rachel Green and then started saying she never saw anybody with that stupid haircut that everyone was raving about. That would've been priceless!

I agree stevenackerman. This movie missed a lot of good comedic opportunities. It came across to me as not knowing whether it was a rom com or a serious drama. Imo, it was too boring and lackluster to be either.

Didn't know you responded to this until now. The writer might not have thought of it or thought it would be too corny to do a Mel Brooks type gag like that.
