I'm getting weirded out by this movie.

My mom's watching this right now, and all I know about it is that Jennifer Aniston visited Kevin Costner, hoping he was her father (which he wasn't)... and now, he is her love interest???

I'd had only a vague idea of what this movie was about, but this movie is very, very wrong.

OK so why do you think the movie is wrong? Are you offended by movies that deal with reality? If that's the case, never watch Hotel Rawanda! Whether you care to admit it or not, some girls fantasize about their fathers (this is psychologically very well documented) and in a few societies incest isn't the horrific taboo Americans make it out to be. Be that as it may: This movie isn't about incest at all and Sarah Huttinger doesn't make a pass at the man she thought was her father until after she discovers he isn't. So her behavior is hardly inappropriate even by often puritanical American standards. Perhaps you're offended by the age difference between the Costner and Aniston characters...then you should know that an awful lot of young women prefer older men because they themselves are sufficiently mature to find the company offered by men their own ages boring. There's nothing wrong with intergenerational relationships, which are purely a matter of personal preference.

How DARE you compare this movie to Hotel Rawanda!

In what reality do you live in that a woman would end up sleeping with a guy she previously thought was her father?

Well, he explained that there was no physical way that he could be her father. So that assumption disappeared.

To each their own, but I find it a bit silly that you judge a movie when you know only one small snapshot of the plot.

Disturbing on a couple different planes. First, she meets Beau, suspecting this is her father. He says he can't be, next thing you know, they're in bed. Next day, they're at the ball, she meets Beau's son, she immediately thinks she's slept with her father. He gives her an excuse, and she's back making out with him again, believing him again at face value. So she's yo-yo'd between he's my dad, he's my lover, he's my dad, he's my lover in the span of like 2 days.

What woman, would sleep with a man that had banged her mom AND grandma?!?!?!? I don't care if it is Kevin Costner, if he was inside my mom, I would never touch him, that is sooooo disgusting. And who wants to take their grandma's lover?? Barf.

I found it so totally gross that Sarah would sleep with a man who had slept with both her mom and grandma. Ewwww
