well, they certainly buy into the emotionally manipulative and morally dishonest narrative well.

Rapunzel is cute and all but she's morally spineless. And pretty selfish too, for similar reasons to why Merida and Ariel are hated. Except they, at least, don't self-rationalize or try to excuse their bad choices.
