Further Thoughts

quite recently,I wrote a review of this picture, giving what I felt to believe was a more balanced, more thoughtful, and more carefully reasoned analysis than the previous one.
Well,I still feel the way that I do.But I wished to add a few additional insights to my critique.
"The Keeper of Time" seems to have been done with an extremely small budget. After having just watched "The Scorpion King' earlier this evening,I became a little more focused on what "Keeper"needs.
First, there doens't appear to be anything new or original in the script. We have a standar story about a dispossessed hero, out on a mission to save the world.Okay, this is Frodo Baggins in a new guise. But we new more and greater exposition as to the menace which threatens the world, and also the identity of this boy,and how he qualifies for the quest.
We also need a longer script,so that the wizard and the warrior can both be further developed,in terms of characterization, and motivation. And we need a greater love interest, a variety of supporting characters, and some comic relief.
The other reviewer made some very nasty remarks about Mike O'Hearn's posturing and swordwork.Well,as I said earlier,we've all got to start somewhere. But,he's done quite a bit already, and,as a non-steroid using bodybuilding champion, who serves as a swell role model for kids(he espouses a tremendously clean lifestyle),and is inspirational by having done so much despite a learning disability, why knock him when he's down?He does a profesional job,for this early in his career. And he really is quite tasty looking, besides.
