What Casadepensii means is that we "people" should wake up and realize that hmmm...well...that the destruction of the World Trade Center was actually an inside job carried out by some combination of the Jewish Mossad, the American government/CIA, and of course they were led by the man who's responsible for every single act of evil on the planet these days, none other than George W. Bush.

Casadepensii may sound like a nut job, but he (or she) actually has plenty of company. More than a third of the American public suspects that federal officials assisted in the 9/11 terrorist attacks or took no action to stop them so the United States could go to war in the Middle East, according to a Scripps Howard/Ohio University poll. Suspicions that the 9/11 attacks were "an inside job" -- the common phrase used by conspiracy theorists on the Internet -- quickly have become nearly as popular as decades-old conspiracy theories that the federal government was responsible for President John F. Kennedy's assassination and that it has covered up proof of space aliens.

Seventy percent of people who give credence to these theories also say they've become angrier with the federal government than they used to be, according to the pollsters. This is also a very popular position with Islamists who hate Israel and America's support of Israel, and claim that over 4,000 Jews stayed home from work at WTC that day. The truth is that an internal memo was sent around Goldman Sachs in Tokyo on September 10 advising all employees of a possible terrorist attack. It recommended all employees to avoid any American government buildings. Government buildings don't include WTC I or II, although the Pentagon and Capital certainly do qualify (but it's doubtful that the Pentagon or the Capital included a lot of Goldman Sachs consultants).

The facts remain that the demolition of the World Trade Center has been a goal of Islamists ever since Ramzi Yousef first attempted it in 1993 with the financial assistance of his cousin, Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, who went on to suggest to Bin Laden that Al Qaeda should use planes as missiles on 9/11, and later beheaded Daniel Pearl. But I suppose that 9/11 conspiracy theorists feel, not without good reason, that if they repeat their assertion often enough then many people will believe it. It works much the same way as Madison Avenue advertising. If you're interested in the truth about 9/11 including how and why the towers fell, check out Popular Mechanics "Debunking the 9/11 Myths" at http://www.popularmechanics.com/technology/military_law/1227842.html.

If you're interested in actual propaganda, go out to the Middle East Media Research Institute's website some time at http://www.memri.org/. Thomas L. Friedman, a political opinion columnist for the New York Times, credits MEMRI with helping to "shine a spotlight on hate speech wherever it appears" and "presenting the voices of the...courageous Arab or Muslim intellectual, cleric or columnist (who) publishes an essay in his or her media calling on fellow Muslims to deal with the cancer in their midst." Trust me, you'll see some real eye-openers there.

I think that the South Park episode "Mystery of the Urinal Deuce" was the best commentary ever on the 9/11 conspiracy theories. ;)

Kyle: Anybody who thinks 9/11 was a conspiracy is a retard.
Cartman: Oh, really? Well, did you know that over one-fourth of people in America think that 9/11 was a conspiracy? Are you saying that one-fourth of Americans are retards?
Kyle: Yes, I'm saying one-fourth of Americans are retards.
Stan: Yeah, at least one-fourth.
