that repetitive piece of background noise
ooohhh
ooohhh
urghhh
was absolute torture
You mean that quiet whistling sound? I thought it was supposed to be an owl or some kind of bird. I wouldnt say it was torture I thought it was quite atmospheric and a bit haunting. What I did find torturing was the incredibly long drawn out scenes like when he's walking to the gym, you first see him as small as a dot on screen and the scene continues until he gets right up close to the camera. I'm guessing they did it to build tension, but some scenes could easily be watched in fast forward and still be slow
shareI think we can say it is the main theme of the soundtrack.
Beautiful movie. Outstanding direction.
That is the sound of isolation and living death. You can hear that sound in the upper levels of high-rise commission flats. It is a lonely, lonely, spooky sound. It was very apt.
Absolutely agree with your input. This sound was the audible frame as Dealers day unfolded, almost routine errands of destruction. Really added to the foreboding atmosphere and dark subject matter. Surprised no one mentioned Bela Tarr influence in this film.
