How the heck...?

I love watching this show with my toddler, she asks for it every morning, and with all the time slot changes I have been keeping at least 2 episodes in my TiVo memory for when she wants it and it's not on.

My question is this, how exactly is the show made? Is it claymation or all CGI? Sometimes I think its CGI, but other times it looks like real claymation (except for the mouths). Does anyone know?

I watch this with my younger sister and I think the bodies are claymation, but they add the CGI eyes and mouths afterwards.

I've wondered about this too and also thought it could be a combination of both. But it doesn't look choppy like claymation typically does. I wonder how they make the movements so smooth.

Floaty, floaty froggie...

It looks more like a bendable foam toy to me. Very smooth either way. If it wasn't for Seinfeld and JoJo I would get rid of my recorder box.

The bodies are actually foam latex over a wire armature which allows the movements.
The smooth look of the animation is due to the animators talent for movement and shooting the scenes (one frame at a time).
The mouths are digital, but the eyes are not they are part of the puppet.

i like to look at everything on the screen and wonder what its made out of. like the water and various textured things. very fun.
