Scary

I watched a couple of these episodes, I think quite late with the sign language interpretor waving in the bottom corner of the screen. Scary thing is I found myself agreeing with most of what the grumpy old men were saying. They're old, I'm in my twenties I don't think we're supposed to agree on very much at all. I came across this title just now and it reminded me of the promise I made to my younger self, to grow up as fast as I could. If I hold the same opinions as grumpy old men now, look out future.

Since I wrote that post I've run into two other people also in their twenties who admit to agreeing with the grumpy old men and there's not been one who has seen the show that doesn't agree. Most of their complaints seemed to be about youth pop culture. Mobile phones, chewing-gum on seats, blah blah blah. So I guess being able to pick out the foolishness and side with them would make you more mature than most. Jury's still out on the possibility that the grumpy men tailored their views to gain camaraderie, but with so little attention paid to the older generation's experience a stealthy attempt to bridge that gap is forgiven.

Hey I know what you mean. I'm a 16 year old girl, for goodness sake, and I find myself nodding along in agreement at most of what is said, or shouting things like "Yes! Thats EXACLTY how it is!" at the television screen. Good grief....

What's wrong with you youngsters? I'm in my mid-30s so I've got the RIGHT to agree with these chaps! I've put the years in!

A spell in the Army, that's what you all need.....right, back to the Telegraph cryptic.

I'm 19, male, and I agree with pretty much everything they say.

You were agreeing because many of the things they're saying are actually "truisms" (in a good sense). I mean, they are just common sense.

Which is why I don't really like the series anymore. I mean, the title is funny and many of the things they say are very funny - but it's misleading and can even be depressing.

I think the key to enjoying this series (as well as the much more depressing "Grumpy Old Women") is remembering NOT to take it seriously.

They certainly aren't taking it seriously.
(At least I hope so.)
