What's up with all the political jokes?

It's obvious these guys are liberals, they really knock republicans. I don't get it, why are you going to try and piss off half of the viewers? I don't really care either way, but just doesn't seem too bright. You don't want to limit your fan base. These guys are funny though, I just love watching the reruns, too bad they don't have new episodes anymore, just like MST3K, I really miss watching that.

I doubt many people actually got pissed off because of the jokes. I'm a republican and it didn't bother me. It's just a TV show.

I heard them knock at Democrats as well. You have to remember that for the run of the show there was a Republican Administration and both Congresses had a Republican majority. Its simply easy to hit at those who are in charge at the time, no matter the party.
