Michael Showalter?

I don't know if any other Stella, State or Wet Hot American Summer fans have seen this thread, but is that Michael Showalter of the above mentioned troupes and movie as Ron Parker in the "Cheap Seats" intro. It looks an awful lot like him. Unless Ron Parker's a real ESPN personality, and I'm just a moron.

I sure as hell thought it was Showalter. I actually just logged onto imdb to prove my friend wrong (he claimed it wasn't Showalter), but of course it didn't say.

It was indeed Showalter. Says so on the Cheap Seats website:

A lot of "State" alum were on this show:

David Wain - Brian Lewis (Blind Spotter)
Michael Showalter - Ron Parker
Michael Ian Black - Hugh Fitzsimmons/Z-Tech employee
Kerry Kenney-Silver - Alice Karp (Putt-putt)
Joe Lo Truglio - Terry Borkin (Fake Hot Dog eater 'cheat-eater')

Can't wait for the State DVDs

I believe Matt Walsh of UCB was "the guy who left the Cal game early".

I think one of the best things about Cheap Seats was its use of the best people in the alternative comedy scene. Beyond those alumni of the State, comedians like David Cross, Patton Oswalt, and Brian Posehn also made appearances to excellent effect. The segment with Oswalt (who's all of 5'5") and Posehn (who's something like 6'7") as brothers who were feuding over putt-putt golf was comedy gold.
