I sure would've like to see Sayuri fall in love with him. He has a vulnerability about him that's so endearing.
shareI agree but there was never a chance for any man but the Chairman. It's a bit creepy when you consider it. Not Sayuri being set on the Chairman, but his deciding he wanted her when she was a little kid. Of course he always intended to wait until she was of appropriate age, but he also engineered a situation where she would not be able to refuse him even if she had wanted to.
shareWhat? No, nobu was nothing like that. He didn't set his sights on her as a child, she simply didn't disgust nad anger his when they met. Nobu didn't like geisha, so him even enjoying Saturday company was a rare thing. He saw something special in her, and he invited her to nearly every party he had. He enjoyed her company, and yes, at some point along the path of their friendship he decided to become her danna, he didn't decide the day they met.
