Halfway through the book...
And I'm loving it. It's hard to put down, I wanna see what happens. I have not watched the film yet, gonna wait til I finish. Easy read and amazing story.

I think you will enjoy the movie more having read the book. Most questions the movie may raise are answered in the book.
shareI absolutely loved the book. The movie was very good, however, there was so much the movie left out. I do realize making a movie with all aspects of a book like this would make the film at least twice as long as the 2+ hours it runs. I'm reading the book yet again and hope you enjoyed it as much as we all have.
shareWhat shocked me about the book is that I knew it was a fictional story but by the end of the book I was convinced the story was real. The book was written by a man from a woman's point of view! What killed it for me was the epilogue. I know people love realism in films and books, but I love the fairytale ending in the film. I don't want to know what happens after lol
shareIt is loosely based on an actual geisha's life. She had her real memoirs published after the book came out. It is even better than this book is.
shareI was also convinced the book was real (the translator's prologue didn't help!), such a masterpiece of storytelling with some black humour throughout.
