I absolutely loved the artistry of this film. The only thing that always bothers me when I watch it is the girl that was cast as young Pumpkin. She looks NOTHING like the adult Pumpkin. She almost looks like she has native american blood in her. I know she's really American. The casting of young Chiyo and adult Chiyo was flawless. But when the movie switches with the two Pumpkins, it ALWAYS just irks me when I see that drastic change.
shareI attributed it to her growing up. If you look at pictures of my daughter when she was 4 she looks really different at 15. It didn't bother me that they weren't spot on with Pumpkin.

I get what you're saying. The adult pumpkin has a very round face, but how often do children cast in films look like the parents or child actors looking like their adult versions. Hardly ever
