why didn't they recast taylor/jenny when she decided ruin her looks?

lol so true. She looked like a street hooker in S3. Jenny was a horrible character

Momsen is very talented but she was not a good fit for the Jenny Humphrey character. They had to change everything from the books because she was so different.

I do really like Taylor Momsen and I'm a fan of TPR.

However, I felt the show should have toned down the scruffy/gothic look in the third season. She looked pretty scruffy at times and not befitting the Upper East side. Even if she is a trend setter, they took the look too far a few times.

Some of her looks were brilliant though.

I liked her look and character in season 3. It was different from the others.

She looked like she was unfamiliar with soap and water for a large part of season 3. She looked ridiculous.

I hate how she ruined the Jenny character and I hate the writers/producers for allowing it even more. Season 1 Jenny was great. All downhill from there.

I agree I think she was miscast for this role. Even in season 1 when she was still doing the "wholesome" look, her chemistry with Dan and Rufus felt off. Then when she went "Goth lite" it just took you way out of the storyline and world.

Taylor is the only reason I watched this show and she was perfect every second she was on screen
