I just started the show on Netflix and before that had only seen commercials for it when it was on air while watching other CW shows. From the advertisements I remember I always thought Chuck was the stereotypical bitchy gay guy. I didn't realize he was one of the major love interests for Blair. I totally misread that one.
Just a girl in the world
I had a similar impression about him except for the gay part. Everyone talked about how romantic he was and how they loved his character. I only had previewed the five minute long pilot commercial and it was not the best impression, so I was very shocked and disgusted that people loved him. I was in for a surprise though when I actually committed to seeing what the character was actually like. When I continued to only watch Blair and Chuck scenes on Youtube(I was not very into the show), I realized that he was pretty sexy and incredible. There are parts of him I do not like and even about their relationship but there are a lot attractive things about his demeanor and personality. It is pretty impressive.
