This is what I hear from a very knowledgeable source associated with this film, and I will quote from his e-mail that I received on 2/13/06: "Lions Gate has picked it up for a summer release. Don't know much more than that at this time."
Australia is getting a straight-to-DVD release of it on 11th May 2006.

Curb Entertainment, who is handling foreign sales, came on board before the film was shot. Therefore they had a jump start on selling the completed film to foreign distributors before the U.S. distribution deal was worked out.
