Inspired by a true story

At the start it states, 'inspired by a true story'. I know its not exactly the same story as the true 1958 Japanese expedition, but as its based on this its a bit of a shame it doesn't mention anything about the real events at the end!! Apart from that i loved the film =) an easy watch and pulls on them heartstrings!! 8/10

It is a real good (if not great) flick. Perhaps they didn't mention the real events because they are not as heart-warming as the movie.

Eight Below adapts the events of the 1958 incident, moved forward to 1993.In the 1958 event, fifteen Sakhalin Husky sled dogs were abandoned when the expedition team was unable to return to the base. When the team returned a year later, two dogs were still alive.

I admire the resilience of those two sled dogs surviving for a year out there in the original expedition. 'Eight Below Zero' is a very good uplifting film. I love huskies. They almost talk. I've rated this movie 8/10.
