I hope the special effects are up to snuff. From what I heard this will be on the Sci-Fi channel, which is notorious for skimping on the FX.
I look forward to it, just as long as it doesn't carry over too much of the novel's rampant misanthropy.
Couldn't help noting that word "misanthropy." I haven't read the books, just saw the movie, but when whoever it was asked (and I can't remember this exactly, just saw it once) "Remember the first time you fell for one of THEM?" ...oh boy. You don't need my life history, but believe me, that struck a chord. A lot of people just tend to be scared s***less of anyone they think is really different from them, and if you've got scales they figure you've also got claws. The movie just carried the metaphor a bit farther and actually gave the different ones the claws. And had fun with it. More fun than you have when it's real.
