A real pity

I had a feeling the movie was a tester to see if it could be worked into a series. I guess we have our answer since I'm posting this in 2008 and there's been no series in sight.

A pity too because the movie, though it had its flaws, had some good points as well, and I was looking forward to a weekly series.

Having read the books, one improvement I think the film made was getting rid of that ridiculous idea of killing being an instinctual response to the point where loved ones would not be safe. While some may argue that being dinosaurs makes the characters more instinct-based and having to hide their existence from humanity has conditioned their response to lethal levels, I have to point out that these are evolved creatures. Not only are they evolved, but they are more technologically advanced than we are (skinsuits, etc...) and evolved from creatures who are no more violent, and in some cases less violent, than our own evolutionary ancestors.

I could accept it if Garcia made it a law in their culture to kill anyone who had knowledge of their existence but to make it an ingrained trait is just ridiculous.
